Because most probably you are using United States-International as input language (Control Panel -> Clock, Language and Region -> Region and Language -> Keyboards and Languages -> Change keyboards).

Add a new language: US (Default), Apply, and set it as default input language in the „Default input language” combo. Remove the „United States-International” input language after that, then press OK.

That should be it!
